ARE YOU READY FOR 2009?
Welcome to the New Year and welcome to the third issue of our OXCI newsletter.
Are you ready for change and excitement in this year? Are you ready to enjoy God and all He has in store for you? Does something deep inside your heart long to break free from the status quo? Are you hungry for an authentic faith?
God is calling you to a passionate love relationship with Himself. The answer isn’t working harder at a list of do’s and don’ts – it’s falling in love with God. And once you encounter His love you will never be the same.
This year promises to be like no other we have experienced and to be ready for it we need to look to God for safety and guidance. We need Him to break into our hearts, and free us from petty worldly things and open our eyes to His wonders. We must ask God to help us live each day in the power of the Holy Spirit.
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Ephesians 6:12-13
And we cannot do it alone – as members of the body of Christ we need each other just as much as we need to seek God in all we do. I hope this issue will help in providing a guide on what we in OXCI are planning for the next few months and how to join in and having an awesome time of fellowship while doing so.
While I was busy putting this issue together, I had a lot to think about, to pray about and be joyful about. I was without words to put down on paper and yet I had so much to share. I truly hope you enjoy reading this newsletter and take encouragement from it.
Furthermore, I hope we all take to heart God’s word and grow our faith in Him and stay obedient to Him. Let’s not discount what is possible with God!
