Eden LogoThe vision for EDEN was born out of a desire to make a difference in the lives of children who have been orphaned by HIV & AIDS in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa. If you would like to read more about the vision for EDEN, please look up the testimony shared by Lolly in issue 3 of our OXCI newsletter.

According to Orphans against aids* "Children in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa face a bleak future. HIV/AIDS, infects 40.7 percent of pregnant women in the region, this has left a myriad of healthy children orphaned and made vulnerable by the pandemic". EDEN is the dream of a nurse, who has worked and served in the region for a number of years. She has seen firsthand the devastating effects of HIV & AIDS.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It's also the most efficient way to sponsor EDEN: EDEN gets your money faster and, if you're a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation. So please sponsor EDEN now!

UPDATE: We only have 19 months before the planned opening of EDEN and still so much to do!

Chris, who is a very busy man, is doing our business plan which is in need of only a few things now and when that is completed we are going to start our big fundraising efforts by approaching big companies and influential people.

We are in need of 1/2 million pounds which will give us enough for land and buildings and start up capital.

We also plan to get people from Richmond, South Africa, on board as silent partners. We are looking to encourage them to use their position in Richmond to endorse EDEN. We are looking at approaching people like the mayor of Richmond, a doctor specialising in HIV/Aids, a manager of a big company and a social services manager.

God has been so good that I have come to know or know people who know all these people before I even knew that they would be part of EDEN.

I believe that God has great plans for EDEN and the children who are going to benefit from our service. We are going to play a small part in changing the future of KwaZulu Natal and South Africa.
