As part of the Church plant four years ago, HCF (Hillcrest Christian Fellowship) very generously donated to us the wonderful audio and visual equipment that we still make use of today. This equipment has ‘powered’ the band, projected the song words, and allowed us to record the services (which are available to listen to via the Media section of the OXCI website at www.oxci.co.uk).

I lead the sound team, and together with Thandi and Jonathan, control the sound level and tone of the band, whilst projecting the song words, hopefully in time, with the music. The computer we use runs a very easy-to-use software programme called “Easyworship”, which was designed specifically for projecting songs/scriptures/images.

The set up team comes in at 08:00 on Sundays and lays out all the equipment and cables for us, after which we come in at 09:00 on Sunday mornings together with the worship team to make sure all the equipment is on and ready for the service.

Should you be looking for a way to serve God within the context of Sunday services, why not consider joining the sound team? It’s not difficult to operate the sound and visual equipment, and a larger team would allow ‘doubling up’ so that one person is dedicated to the sound whilst the other concentrates on the projection.
